Food pairing: With tasty appetizers (salami, sausages), grilled fish and shellfish, cheese, white meats and poultry and as an aperitif.
This grape variety is certainly among the most coveted in South Tyrol.
The aromatic Traminer owes its characteristics above all to the combination of grapes from two different areas: the warm vineyards surrounding Termeno, which give it substance,
amplitude and lovable notes, and those located at higher altitudes in the Isarco Valley, which make it fresh and refined, also giving it a more articulated aromatic structure.
Obviously, the harvest in the two areas - Bassa Atesina and Val d'Isarco - takes place at different times, with an interval that in some years reaches more than six weeks.
Production areas: Selected vineyards in Magrè, Cortaccia, Termeno and Valle d'Isarco.
Altitude: 250 - 750 meters above sea level
Soil: sandy, gravelly and partly clayey soils.
Age of vines: 8-52 years.
Harvest: late August-late September.
Vinification: Fermentation at controlled temperature in steel.
Aging: On the fine lees in steel (about 4 months)
Acidity: 5.2 g/l.
Alois Lageder
IN TUNE WITH NATURE By applying the principles of the biological-dynamic method, the Alois Lageder wine estate cultivates 55 hectares of vineyards owned by the family in South Tyrol. The holistic approach is at the basis of all the activity, of the relationships that bind them for many years with the numerous wine-growing partners, and also of their ambition to spread awareness for a more natural and sustainable agriculture. The wines embody the diversity of South Tyrol. With the Classic Vines they want to bring out the variety of the territory. The compositions are born from a union of various components and enhance the differences and peculiarities of the vineyards from which they are born. With the Masterpieces we seek excellence and perfect every aspect of viticulture.
