Food matches: Excellent as an aperitif, it goes well with rich appetizers based on salami and cheeses. Try it with a fish tempura.

Alma Gran Cuvée Bellavista is an excellence of our understanding of Franciacorta. It is the maximum expression of a project that, since 1977, has set itself the goal of seeking the pure essence of harmony. Today, it is a symbol of a tradition that wants to represent, in quality and typology, the most mysterious soul of the land of Franciacorta and the oenological style of Bellavista.

A result obtained through an artisanal method that has now become rare for the meticulous care that we dedicate to each single processing phase and for the respect we give to "time", choosing nature and its extraordinary biodiversity as the only guide and unit of measurement. In its name, "Alma", the tender homage to the land of Franciacorta which generates wonders (from the Latin "almus" = which nourishes, which feeds and makes life grow. By extension: great, noble, magnificent).

IN THE VINEYARD

We have always cultivated the vineyard as if it were a small, precious garden. The "cru" of Bellavista are today 147 and these small plots are further divided into 224 micro parcels. We work on an extension of 190 hectares of vineyards and in them we operate a classification of 64 different types of soils that represent all 6 units of landscape of Franciacorta: an exemplary biodiversity that at each harvest gives us the charm of an extraordinarily wide expressive range and full of nuances. To achieve the result you find in Alma Gran Cuvéeattingiamo only from the 10 parcels of the 10 Municipalities of Franciacorta which over time have been more suited to expressing character and elegance. This choice presupposes a distinctive geographical location that meets the following requirements: orientation South or South-East, altitude from 200 to 350 meters, maximum exposure to the breezes coming from Lake Iseo and the Prealps. The care of the vineyard is entrusted to real masters of viticulture and the average age of the vines, which has now exceeded the average of 20 years, is only one of the many parameters that attest to the utmost respect dedicated to the work of the winemaker.

IN THE BASEMENT

The attention to the most subtle differences within the terroir continues tirelessly during the winemaking phases to reach its peak in the assembly of wines, a real "art" in which the uniqueness of each "cru" is enhanced to obtain a complete and complex "ensemble", destined to achieve perfect harmony over time. The selection made in the vineyard finds full expression in the cellar where each individual parcel is harvested separately to keep the biodiversity heritage sought after in the vineyard intact and pure. There are 120 harvest variables available every year Bellavista and to these are added at least 20 selections drawn from historical vintages: in all 140 variables from which to draw for the elaboration of a cuvée. Alma Gran Cuveé feeds on this wonderful deposit, drawing its unmistakable texture through the composition of at least 75 of the 140 variables. Within this expressive range, "reserve wines" represent the greatest treasure from which to draw in order to define and persist over time the sensorial profile that distinguishes the Bellavista style. Thanks to their precious contribution, we can find every year a "constant of taste" that distinguishes the essence of Alma Gran Cuvée, giving it that particular texture and persuasive finesse that has always represented its distinctive character. Another distinctive factor that adds value and uniqueness to this Gran Cuvée is the fermentation and elevation of at least 35% of the wines that make it up in small white oak barrels over 35 years of age.A further quality detail that confers the well-known complexity of the olfactory and gustatory variables of Alma Gran Cuvée. The composition of the grapes is now redefined by a higher percentage of Pinot Noir (22%) which brings character, structure and depth to the components represented by Chardonnay (77%) and Pinot Blanc (1%).For 40 years we have been working to extend the aging time dedicated to Alma Gran Cuvée more and more. In fact, time is our greatest ally in the unfolding of a technique that we have elevated to a real art.The aging period of Alma Gran Cuvée is at least 40 months starting from the vintage.

Bellavista

Bellavista is one of the most important companies in Franciacorta and it is rare to find a fan of bubbles that does not know his name. The company was founded in 1977 by Vittorio Moretti with a single dream, to produce fantastic wines that could rival the greatest Champagnes in terms of quality. In Bellavista everything has been designed and built according to a very clear viticultural and oenological thought. In this intention, men have recognized themselves who have chosen to embrace a philosophy without prejudice and without compromise. Calmly and with foresight, they took over their lives by harmonizing it with their work. They believed in a dream and nurtured it with the willpower to create a Franciacorta of surprising personality and character, characterized by grace and lightness, energy and speed. Loyal as a handshake, but bold enough to break the prejudices of the rest of the world. In order to live over time, testifying with its uniqueness the Italian style. Culture, through the coherent repetition of gestures and convictions, can have the privilege, in the succession of generations, to become tradition. In the international panorama of quality effervescence, we are too small to be like all producers in the world. The solution remains to be different. And in Bellavista we have always been different, choosing not the things we like, but those that remain. We cultivate the waiting time, in every single gesture and in every single thought. Let's not rush the time of slow blooms and slow ripening. On the contrary, we are looking for them through an ancestral type of cultivation that respects the rhythms of nature and does not try to deceive it with the language of hyper-technicalisms. We continue on our way, with determination and patience, according to unchanged and natural times, preferring the experience and the wisdom of the hands. The privilege of exhibitions; mass selection; farming systems; manual harvesting and pressing; the selections of harvest, vine by vine, row by row; fermentation in small white oak barrels, an alliance between wine and wood essential to refine the character of our Franciacorta wines; the selections of vintage wines - more than 100 - and those of reserve wines - more than 20 - to compose each of our cuvées; the refermentation in the bottle in our galleries at a constant temperature of 13 ° C and therefore the silent refinement for long years, even more than six: a time of peace which for the wine is the principle of its salvation and longevity. To be sure that the waiting time will turn into friendship time, to underline the value of sincere bonds that last over time.
