Billecart-Salmon

Billecart-Salmon was founded in 1818 in Mareuil-sur-Aÿ by François Billecart and his wife Elisabeth Salmon. Today, after two hundred years, the Maison is still a family business managed by the seventh generation. The main goal of François and Antoine Billecart is to continue making champagne with the same dedication, passion and precision of their ancestors. The company is made up of 15 hectares of vineyards in small parcels scattered in the best areas of Champagne: Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, Damer, Aÿ, Mesnil-sur-Oger and Avize. Vintage Champagne wines are made exclusively with grapes from vineyards classified as Grand Cru. The cellars, built in 1840, are excavated in chalky soil, which is by nature perfect for the refinement of the Maison's wines given the properties in terms of humidity and natural temperature throughout the year. Here also the stages of winemaking and sparkling of the Billecart-Salmon branded champagne take place, champagne capable of captivating for its charm, minerality, pleasantness and complexity.
