Borgogno's Barolo Chinato was born in the first decades of the 20th century thanks to the genius of Cesare Borgogno, a passionate herbalist and friend of great Vermouth producers.
Unique drink, which to be produced requires an excellent base to which sugar, alcohol and an infusion are added whose recipe is obviously kept secret by the family.
The recipe is obtained almost exclusively with flowers, seeds, roots, fruits, leaves and obviously china, the key ingredient.


Borgogno is one of the oldest names in Langhe wine. The company was founded in 1761 and has indelibly carved the history of the Piedmontese wine scene allowing the great Langa wines to become so popular and recognized. The protagonist and promoter of the company's success was Cesare Borgogno who expanded his markets all over the world under the brand name "Giacomo Borgogno & Figli", in honor of his father. In 2008 the business was acquired by the Farinetti family, thus restoring the company to a new life, reinvigorating the traditions and rediscovering its identity. The company cultivates 31 hectares of vines in the heart of Langhe, producing Barolo in some of the most renowned Cru such as Fossati, Liste and Cannubi.
