Vines Susumaniello ( %)

Color: Intense ruby ​​red with bluish reflections.
Smell: The nose is intense with notes of reds also in jam, and a finish of graphite.
Taste: Full-bodied on the palate, decisive and balanced in tannins, with an excellent fruit compenent in persistent aromas.
Food pairing: Perfect for traditional Apulian dishes, first courses with meat sauces, stewed and roasted red meats, cured meats and aged cheeses.

Susumaniello, whose name means "loaded like a donkey", as it is particularly full of fruit at a young age, in the maturity phase, after about 10 years, productivity drops significantly and can finally be tasted in all its perfection. It is easy to recognize the Susumaniello bunches among the native Salento wines, thanks to its extremely ink blue color, so much so that in the past it was used as a cut to give greater chromatic depth to the other wines.

Harvest: Manual in small boxes.
Vinification: Maceration in horizontal rotating silos, alcoholic and malolactic fermentation.
Aging: For 6 months in French oak barriques.

Since 1989, the year of its foundation, Cantine Due Palme has as its main objective the vinification of quality products, obtained from the typical grapes of the area such as Negroamaro, Malvasia Nera, Primitivo and Susumaniello. All stages of production, from the cellar to aging to the bottling line, are guaranteed by meticulous quality controls. Among the few cooperatives in Italy to be able to boast the description on the back label of wines "entirely produced in the company"; a unique quality assurance and traceability of the supply chain, which allows you to follow the evolution of the raw material, from the bunch of grapes to the glass of wine. The company has always focused on preserving the Apulian sapling which allows us to obtain grapes of exceptional quality, with complex and full-bodied fruit. Cantine Due Palme is today a symbol of excellence of Apulian oenology, an important testimony of this territory, its history and its tradition.
