Smell: The nose is intense and rich with fruity notes of blackberry, raspberry, morello cherry and dried fig; licorice spice, dark chocolate, cloves, leather, coffee with menthol hints.
Taste: On the palate it is full, long persistence, with complex and vigorous tannins.
Food pairing: Perfect for pasta dishes with fresh and stuffed pasta, red and white meats, game, mushrooms, truffles, seasoned cheeses that are not too spicy.

Cantina Tollo

The company was born in 1960, when the Abruzzo countryside depopulated again and many Italians left the country in search of a better future. Their fathers, winemakers for generations, chose instead to stay in the vineyards, creating the Tollo winery. In the sixties and seventies, the winery played an active role in the sector, helping to bring about a radical change in the wine-growing geography of the region in the 1960s and 1970s. While there was a drop in production in the areas of Teramo and L'Aquila, the area under vines in the province of Chieti and in particular in Tollo, which had become a real "City of Wine", was gradually growing. The contribution of the winery to the process of regulating production, to the initiatives for the protection of typical regional wines and to programs for the improvement of the quality of grapes and winemaking techniques is also of great importance. Today Cantina Tollo is one of the most important and consolidated companies in the Italian wine sector. Present in all European Union countries, North America and the Far East, it exports 35% of its production, with particular attention to the emerging markets of Russia, India and China. The aging systems, located in Tollo, consist of barriques and large Slavonian oak barrels, to which are added the vitrified cement tanks, considered today the best for aging. Passion, commitment and shared values ​​have guided Cantina Tollo in every corner of its history and continue to accompany its successes.
