Cheval des Andes

Founded in 1999 in one of the most renowned areas of Argentina - Luján de Cuyo, in the north of the region of Mendoza - Cheval des Andes, it extends over an exceptional area of ancient non-grafted vines of Malbec, whose grapes are assembled with those of Cabernet Sauvignon. This unique terroir, located at the foot of the Andean mountain range, has given rise to the production of a fresh and elegant Grand Cru from the Andes, which promises excellent maturation. The vintage effect completes each vintage giving it its uniqueness. Each grape variety is planted in a carefully selected terroir so that it can fully reveal its potential. Today, the vision of committed winemakers, supported by the skills of the Château Cheval Blanc teams, has become reality thanks to twenty years of daily care in these unique vineyards which now produce an authentic Andes Grand Cru. Like all Gran Cru, Cheval des Andes was born from a great terroir, but it is also the result of precise and meticulous viticulture. Depending on the soil, the variety of grapes, age, fertility and other factors, each individual plot of vines is cared for differently in order to produce only the best fruits. The team of winemakers knows, observes and takes care of each vine in order to obtain a mature and homogeneous harvest for the entire vineyard. The vision that guides it is always one: time is the ally of an excellent wine, as it allows it to refine and achieve perfection and, at the same time, remain faithful to its origins. As the vision becomes concrete, the details are refined, the freshness, balance and complexity become the milestones of Cheval des Andes. The style becomes elegant, the assembly is perfected and the wine promises excellent maturation. Cheval des Andes is a unique concept, matured over a long period of time. It is a long term project. Product of a special terroir with an unusual grape variety assembly in Argentina, it is the privileged fruit of the know-how of Cheval Blanc and his team of experts. This stimulating adventure in search of an exceptional wine derives from the intuition and humility of man in the presence of nature. It is the result of the talent of the winemakers, the success of ancient gestures and the knowledge of the terroir. Tasting, drinking for pleasure or aging this wine brings a wave of enthusiasm to all those who appreciate its uniqueness: an Argentine Grand Cru inspired by a top of the range Grand Cru from Bordeaux, Cheval Blanc. Twenty years of sweat and sacrifices were needed, but today Cheval des Andes is here, ready to amaze.
