Clerico Domenico

For some time, my father produced grapes, which he gave to the social cellar, and a modest quantity of fruit that he sold in the local markets. It was a typical, small, Piedmontese farm, of about 4-5 hectares of land. In 1976 he asked me if I wanted to take over the reins of the company. In agreement with my wife Giuliana I started this great adventure ... From the beginning I privileged the work between the rows, convinced that to obtain good wines, the vineyard must be bred with love and dedication, establishing an intense bond with the land and continuous exchange to learn to understand the needs of the vine at all times of the 'year. And so, continuing my adventure, the choice to start producing great wines, faced me with the need to buy new vineyards, well positioned in the cru I preferred. In 1977 I bought a small plot in the heart of the "Bussia", which allowed me to produce my first Barolo: "Briccotto Bussia". A few years later I manage to obtain a fantastic vineyard in the "Ginestra" cru from which I started producing my Barolo "Ciabot Mentin" and shortly afterwards another vineyard in this splendid cru from where I get the "Pajana" Barolo. In 1995 I choose a plot in another cru called "Mosconi" and the life of my Barolo "Percristina" begins. With much effort and goodwill, we have come to build a company that today is made up of about 21 hectares for a total of 110,000 bottles per year. I do not pay, in the period between 2005 and 2006 I strongly sought a new goal that would give me the right stimulus to challenge myself once again. Thus was born my Barolo from a town very close to Monforte d'Alba and in some ways very different, Serralunga d'Alba. Thus Aeroplanservaj comes to life. Even today, despite the difficulties that life holds for us, I remain focused only on quality, trying to keep the name of Barolo high, from the vineyard to the bottle.
