Domaine Bruno Colin
Bruno Colin is a young vigneron who, after working for ten years in the family estate, founded his company in 2008 in Chassagne-Montrachet, where most of the owned vineyards are also located. Its production is 60,000 bottles per year. The company's hectares are eight and as many are the Chassagne-Montrachet premier cru in which Bruno owns at least one plot. The vineyards in the municipality of Puligny-Montrachet are equally valuable and also those in the less reputed Saint-Aubin. The white wines are obtained with traditional vinification, natural fermentation and in temperature-controlled cuves with aging in new wood for 1/3 of 12 months for the Villages and Saint-Aubin and for 18 months for the 1er Cru of Chassagne-Montrachet. The red grapes are entirely de-stemmed and left to macerate in cuves for about 20 days. Subsequently, they are placed in the classic 228-liter fûts, new for 30/40%, for a period that varies from 12 to 18 months depending on the vintage. Bruno's ability is to provide a broad and varied view of the denomination: thanks to the many parcels of Chassagne-Montrachet, he manages to distinguish the wines with a personal style, aimed at enhancing the minerality and able to offer straight wines but never austere.
