Domaine Michel Niellon

Michel Niellon started working with his father Marcel in the 50s of the last century, but it will be necessary to wait until the 60s to see the wines of their domaine bottled. Since 1991 Michel Niellon has shared the management of the vineyards and the cellar with his son-in-law, Michel Coutoux, to which Michel's nephew Mathieu Bresson has recently joined. Today the company owns 7.5 hectares of vineyards all located in Chassagne- Montrachet planted 2/3 in Chardonnay and 1/3 in Pinot Noir: in Michel Niellon's property there are also small parcels located in the village of Puligny Montrachet in the climats of Chevalier and Bâtard- Montrachet. The management of the vineyards takes place according to the parameters of reasoned struggle and the presence of old vines, which produce a low yield of grapes, allow Michel Niellon to enhance intensity and character in his wines. Niellon wines have a classic style: they are the spokesman for their terroir of origin, seeking a great balance between minerality and fruit.
