Domaine de Montille

The family has an ancient history dating back to the 17th century in Créancey in the Auxois region, with the lords of Commeau. The winery was built in 1750, says Hubert de Montille. After the union of Marie Eléonore Chauvelot de Chevannes and Étienne Joseph Marie Léonce Bizouard de Montille, Hubert's grandfather, the company took the name De Montille on April 9, 1863. In 1983 Étienne started working on the Domaine. In 1995 he became co-manager and began to orient the winery towards organic agriculture. In 2001 he devoted himself entirely to the cellar and the Chateau de Puligny-Montrachet. He took full control and affirmed his style and philosophy: biodynamic agriculture. All the while, he has remained faithful to the values transmitted by his father: authenticity, purity, elegance and balance. In 2011, the winery has an extension of 20 hectares of vineyards, of which 75% were Premiers or Grands Crus from both Côtes.
