Vines Chardonnay ( %)

Smell: The nose is fresco and spicy, composed of a note of hydrocarbons, smoke, straw and ripe pear.
Taste: On the palate it has a good body, fresco and round, soft and deep, with excellent balance and persistence.

Denomination: "Le Clos du Château" is essentially a vineyard of about five hectares which is located opposite the castle of Puligny and is entirely enclosed by walls. This facilitates biodynamic farming methods. Classified as Bourgogne AOC, this vineyard is extraordinarily well located in the village on the edge of the Puligny-Montrachet vineyards. The deep soil, made up of limousines and clay, gives the wine an enchanting generosity. From the vineyard to the cellar, we do everything we can too this Clos du Château is an exceptional Burgundy Blanc that honors its origin and position.
Vintage: 2015 began with a mite and rainy winter, essential for increasing the level of the water table. The weather is very sunny and hot, it dominated quickly and noticed this vintage. The first temperatures were reinforced by the mild temperatures of April. And with the same tendency, the temperatures of late May and June allow us to flower serene both in our vineyards of the Côte de Nuits and the Côte de Beaune. The months of July and August showed the hottest temperature in the maerefore, whites do not represent any excess of ripe aromas, on the contrary, they are surprising for their freshness and length. Some wines will be ready to drink in youth; between 2 and 5 years (Burgundy and some villages). But 2015 is also a vintage with an aging potential (from 7 to 10 years) for great wines such as Puligny 1er Cru Les Folatières and Chevalier Grand Cru.

Domaine du Château de Puligny-Montrachet

The origins of the De Montille family date back to the mid-17th century, in Créancey, in the Auxois region. The Domaine du Château de Puligny-Montrachet lay on a real treasure then unknown: Musigny, Bonnes Mares, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru 'Les Amoureuses', 12 hectares of magnificent terroir planted in pinot noir, in the Côte de Nuits and in the Côte de Beaune. Over time and for financial reasons, these vineyards were sold and the Montille family began to decline. Hubert, then a lawyer, takes over the reins of the company after the war, dividing his time between the vineyards of Volnay and the courtrooms of Dijon. Its first harvest was in 1947, the year in which it began to make wine on its own. Hubert de Montille rewrote the history of Burgundian viticulture after the war; his wines were a faithful transfiguration of the reference terroirs and the mirror of his lively and heated personality: wines designed to challenge time. In 1983 Étienne, Hubert's son, began working at the Domaine. In 1995 he embarked on the path to organic, culminating in the "Ecocert Bio" certification obtained in 2012. In 2001 Étienne leads the company towards biodynamic viticulture, carrying on his father's work in the sign of authenticity, purity, elegance and balance in the produce wine. Since 2002 he has also managed the Château de Puligny-Montrachet, and in 2003, together with his sister Alix, he created the Deux Montille Sœur-Frère, mainly dedicated to white wines. If Étienne represents the "rossista" soul of de Montille's house, Alix represents the "bianchista". In 2005 Étienne bought back a share of the Clos Vougeot and a lot adjacent to La Tâche, in Vosne-Romanée, the mythical "Les Malconsorts". To date there are about 20 hectares of vineyards, of which 75% are Premier or Grand Crus from both the Côtes, de Beaune and de Nuits.
