Color: Bright amber.
Smell: The nose offers a fragrant and complex bouquet, where the notes of fresh apricot and orange peel are combined with hints of Mediterranean scrub (thyme and rosemary).
Taste: In the mouth it is surprising for its great freshness and intensity, with a pleasant sweetness balanced by a great minerality and a lively sapidity. It closes with a very long persistence, with a satisfying return of the fruity note.
Food pairing: A complex and captivating passito di Pantelleria, one of the most popular Italian sweet wines in the world. With caramelized duck, blue cheeses, foie gras, dry pastries and signature chocolate.
Extraordinary on its own, as a meditation wine. Serve it in medium-sized glasses, with a slight flare, it can be uncorked at the moment. Excellent at 14 °C.
Harvest: Manual harvest in crates with careful selection of the grapes in the vineyard.
Yield per hectare: 40-50 quintals
Vinification: Fermentation in steel at a controlled temperature; the must in fermentation is added - on several occasions - with hand-picked and selected raisins. During maceration, the raisins release their extraordinary heritage of sweetness, freshness and a very personal aroma.
Aging: In the tank for 8 months and at least 12 months in the bottle before being marketed.
Sugar residue: 196 g/l.
Total acidity: 7.3 g/l
pH: 3.83.
First vintage: 1989.

Donnafugata
Donnafugata was born in Sicily from the initiative of a family that with great passion has been able to revolutionize the style and perception of Sicilian wine in the world. The name Donnafugata refers to the novel by Tomasi di Lampedusa the Leopard. A name that means "woman on the run" and refers to the story of a queen who found refuge in that part of Sicily where the company vineyards are located today. A story that inspired the company logo: the image of a woman's head with her hair blowing in the wind that stands out on each bottle. The Rallo family back in 1851 entered the world of wine in Sicily in the wake of British entrepreneurs In 1983 Giacomo and Gabriella donfano Donnafugata, a name that communicates with art. A new style for Sicilian wines In 1990 Giacomo and Gabriella were joined by their sons José and Antonio and the company increasingly sought pleasure, elegance and longevity in the wines.
