The first and only Blanc de Noirs in the history of the Ferrari Cellars, the Ferrari Perlé Nero is a reserve created with only Pinot Noir grapes carefully selected in the best vineyards owned by the Lunelli family, on the slopes of the Trentino mountains. It is the result of forty years of research, in the vineyard and in the cellar, on this delicate and unpredictable grape variety. It is surprising because it is extraordinarily different from the other labels of the company and proudly unique, but perfectly in line with the Ferrari style. After 6 years of bottle aging, it is a Trentodoc characterized by a complexity ranging from fruity to mineral, to toasted.

Vintage 2011: The rather mild and rainy winter season led to a budding advance of about 12-15 days compared to the previous year. Spring was characterized by good weather, while the month of July was rather rainy and cold. The harvest began on August 16 with the earliest matches and ended on September 12 with those from the areas at higher altitudes. The 2011 vintage was quantitatively poor but the perfect health and the right ratio between acidity and sugars allowed to obtain excellent sparkling wine bases.
Grapes: Careful selection of only Pinot Noir grapes, harvested by hand in mid-September.
Maturation: At least 6 years on selected yeasts in proper crops.
Production area: vineyards owned by the Lunelli family cultivated in the highest areas within the farms of Villa Margon, Maso Orsi and Maso Valli, at over 400 meters.

The Ferrari myth was born from a man, Giulio Ferrari, and from his dream of creating a wine in Trentino capable of confronting the best French Champagne. He is a pioneer: it is he who first senses the extraordinary vocation of his land, he who first spreads Chardonnay in Italy. He begins to produce a few carefully selected bottles, with an obsessive cult of quality. Having no children, Giulio Ferrari looks for a successor to whom to entrust his dream. In 1952, among the many suitors he chose Bruno Lunelli, owner of a wine shop in Trento Thanks to the passion and entrepreneurial talent, Bruno Lunelli manages to increase production without ever compromising on quality. Between the 70s and '00s, Bruno Lunelli passed on the passion to his children: under the guidance of Franco, Gino and Mauro, Ferrari became the leader in Italy and the Italian toast par excellence. In recent years, some of the labels destined to enter history see the light: they are the Ferrari Rosé, Ferrari Perlé and Giulio Ferrari Riserva del Fondatore. Today the third generation of the Lunelli family keeps the Ferrari dream alive. Marcello, Matteo, Camilla and Alessandro lead the company together with an extraordinary team with the aim of innovating in the wake of tradition, bringing Ferrari to the world as an ambassador of the Italian Art of Living. Ferrari was born in the mountain vineyards, in the most suitable areas of Trentino, and improved in the cellar according to the Trentodoc specification. With its mountain viticulture, Trentino is a land extraordinarily suited to create bubbles of great elegance and complexity: the alternation of hot days and cool nights enriches the grapes, giving them a rainbow of aromas and scents. Trentodoc is the first DOC in Italy dedicated only to the Classic Method. Trentodoc expresses the essence of mountain bubbles, produced exclusively with the Classic Method from Trentino grapes only. It is the first DOC born in Italy for the Classic Method and the second in the world after Champagne. There are 40 producers and over 100 labels gathered under the TRENTODOC brand, born in 2007 and promoted by the Institute of the same name. At the end of the summer, when the Chardonnay and Pinot Noir bunches are ripe, the grapes are harvested by hand and brought to the cellar, where it is pressed. It is the moment of the first fermentation, in which the olfactory notes of the original grape variety come to life. After the creation of the cuvées, the base wine is bottled and enriched with selected sugars and yeasts. Thus begins the second fermentation, the one that gives the perlage. The rest of the cuvée lasts from two to ten years depending on the label. In the silence of the cellar, the remuage ritual is perpetuated: that eighth of a daily tour, essential for sliding the sediment towards the cork, which will be eliminated with disgorgement. The work ends with the addition of the liqueur d’expédition, the secret recipe that defines the stylistic imprint of each cellar. Ferrari's soul comes from a generous nature and man's tenacity; it originates from grapes selected by hand in the vineyards of the Lunelli family and from the work of the 500 families of Trentino winegrowers who confer their harvest. In these mountain vineyards, maintained and cared for as gardens, each row is an expression of the deep respect for nature and the continuous contact of man with the earth. Ferrari agronomists follow the contributors throughout the year, while the house's oenologists verify all stages of the delicate winemaking process. Excellence thus materializes in every step of the supply chain, from the vineyard to the table. In the owned vineyards, all certified organic, the very concept of natural soil fertility has been put at the center, recovering some traditional agronomic practices such as green manure. Attention to a wider vision of respect for the environment has also led to the obtainment of the "Biodiversity Friend" certification by the Worldwide Biodiversity Association. Grape quality, health of the grower and protection of the environment are also the cornerstones of the protocol "The Ferrari vineyard - for a sustainable and healthy mountain viticulture", intended for grape donors, developed with the scientific support of the Edmund Mach Foundation and certified by CSQA. Through rigorous rules and sustainable methods, which include the total elimination of herbicides, acarides and synthetic pesticides, the natural fertility of the earth and the surrounding environment is guaranteed.
