The Frescobaldi family owns about 300 hectares of olive groves between 200 and 500 meters above sea level where the microclimate gives the olives unique characteristics in terms of freshness and intensity of aromas and flavors. In October and never beyond November, the olives are harvested early, before ripening, to capture the emerald green color and the aromatic freshness. Then, the olives are always crushed in a few hours from the harvest, in the proprietary oil mill. These rules guarantee maximum excellence. Frescobaldi makes a strict selection and only the extra virgin olive oil with the highest quality is selected to become

LAUDEMIO FRESCOBALDI 2019 “In medieval times, the name Laudemio indicated the part of the harvest reserved for the lord, owner of the land. He was offered the best part of the harvest called "Laudemio", whose name has since been synonymous with value and quality. Today Laudemio Frescobaldi represents the maximum expression of extra virgin olive oil.

CLIMATIC PERFORMANCE The winter has been regular, with the typical cold and rainy days. Spring was characterized by an abnormal month of May, in which both the low temperatures and the high rainfall slowed down the oritura and consequently also the fruit set, which caused a difference in the production of olives, with very important in areas around 200 meters above sea level, closest to Florence and scarcity in hilly areas above 300 meters above sea level. The summer was particularly hot, and ensured very healthy olives, which began to ripen in the first half of October, at the same time as the beginning of the harvest.

TASTING NOTES Laudemio Frescobaldi is a robust extra virgin olive oil naturally rich in polyphenols, with a bright, emerald green color, a scent of mown grass and artichoke, and an intense and pleasantly spicy flavor. This year, the aromatic profile is extremely rich, with great olfactory amplitude, hints typically linked to the territory of Tuscany, with an open heart of artichoke and green olive, followed by a note of freshly mown grass. The flavor is characterized by an extraordinary balance between bitter, spicy and fruity.

Creativity and the pursuit of excellence have been handed down over the centuries in all generations of the family. In 1300, during the exile of Dante Alighieri, the poet friend Dino Frescobaldi brought him back the first seven songs of the Divine Comedy, thus allowing him to complete the work. In the 1700s, the Baroque compositions of the famous musician Girolamo Frescobaldi spread throughout Europe. With great openness to the future, the family's ancestors introduced vines to Tuscany that were unknown at the time in 1855, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Nero and Chardonnay. The 20th century is characterized by the action of Vittorio, Ferdinando and Leonardo Frescobaldi who made an important contribution to elevating Tuscany to a place of excellence for viticulture. Today Lamberto Frescobaldi has collected the witness who, thanks to his long technical experience, has the aim of further strengthening the uniqueness of the wines of each estate of the family.
