Smell: The nose expresses complexity and great elegance with typical notes of yellow pulp fruit and ripe exotic, citrus notes, yellow flowers, vanilla, honey and toasted hazelnut.
Taste: On the palate it is creamy, soft and enveloping, balanced, with great freshness and consistency of aromas. Excellent persistence of great class. Very long life wine.
Food pairing: Perfect for fish and shellfish dishes, elaborate white meat dishes, mushrooms and aged cheeses.
Hartmann Donà
The company was born to create exciting and unique wines; wines that enchant and tell their particular story. Hartmann Donà's aim was, and still is, to produce wines with character. Pinot Noir Donà Noir was the first wine made to reflect the characteristics of the soil and the special microclimate. Two more followed, the Donà Rouge and the Donà Blanc. Only after about four years of aging do they reach full maturity. The assortment has now been enriched with four fresh and elegant white wines, bottled in purity - Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Gewürztraminer - and an elegant Lagrein. In all, 35,000-40,000 bottles are produced every year, which reflect the passion and the work done manually and in respect of nature in the vineyards and in the cellar. The entire viticulture and winemaking process is based on my idea of how excellent wines are created. This makes me a nonconformist. But also a man who loves the wines he produces and who would like to take them where sensitive people know how to appreciate these excellent nectars. The main characteristics of Donà wines are their elegance, harmony, alpine freshness and minerality. They express considerable development capacity and are therefore extraordinarily long-lived. All qualities that give life to exciting, deep and persistent wines and which attract the attention of connoisseurs. Upstream of the creation of each wine there is the will to give life to something absolutely special with local vines. For example, rediscovering and reinterpreting the potential, partly forgotten and misunderstood, of 40-50 year old vines, as in the case of the Donà Rouge from the autochthonous Schiava grape. Or the refinement in wooden barrels for almost two years and the subsequent long aging in bottle, to obtain a wine with character, savory and persuasive. Donà has always expressed interest in wines that do not follow the conventions but express their strong personality with pride and decision.
