Sicilia DOP Bianco 2019 - IDDA (Gaja/Graci)

Color: Straw yellow with slight golden reflections.
Smell: The nose is rich and complex with hints of white flowers, almonds and marzipan combined with herbaceous and flint notes.
Taste: Fresh and savory on the palate, it is characterized by a pleasant sweetness combined with good acidity.
Food pairing: Perfect for first and second courses based on fish and shellfish, delicate white meats and slightly aged cheeses.

Vineyards: Located in the municipalities of Biancavilla, on the south-west side of the Etna volcano, at an average altitude of 700-800 m a.s.l., and of Belpasso, on the south side, at an average altitude of 600-700 m a.s.l.
Vinification and aging: Fermentation for about three weeks, followed by aging for 12 months, partly in oak barrels and partly in steel.

IDDA

Etna is not just a volcano, it is the mountain that originated in hundreds of thousands of years of lava eruptions. The Sicilians recognize her a feminine nature, of a severe and generous mother, so much so that they call her IDDA, that is "She". IDDA is pure energy, offers a land where each fruit ripens with a thousand shades. IDDA has also become a joint project of two families, Gaja and Graci. This adventure was born in 2016 on the highest active volcano in Europe. A company born to explore the southern area of Etna in search of vineyards that express elegance and complexity thanks to the nature of the soils and the brightness that characterizes these places. Today the company owns 20 hectares of vineyards located between 600 and 800 meters above sea level. in the municipalities of Belpasso and Biancavilla. The vines currently grown are Nerello Mascalese and Carricante. Other vineyards will be planted in the future.
