Léon Beyer

The Léon Beyer company is located in Eguisheim, south-west of Colmar, a village with a tradition in the wine sector that dates back to the Middle Ages: Eguisheim is therefore considered the cradle of the Alsatian vineyard. The Beyer family has been involved in viticulture since 1580 and has now reached its 14th generation. The Léon Beyer winery produces a wide range of wines made with Sylvaner, Pinot Bianco, Riesling, Pinot Grigio and Gewürztraminer grapes. The vineyards used by Léon Beyer enjoy the best exposure of Equisheim. The grapes used come in part from owned vineyards and in part are the result of historical collaborations with small producers from which the Beyers buy the grapes for the production of Classiques wines. The most prestigious wines, on the other hand, are produced from the 20 hectares of owned vineyards, which include parcels in the two Grands Crus of Eguisheim: Eichberg and Pfersigberg. The Léon Beyer company was a pioneer in the production of Alsatian dry wines, immediately sensing their great potential in combining with food.
