Alto Adige Doc Gewürztraminer Festival DOP 2019 - Meran

Color: The color is a lively straw yellow with musky reflections.
Smell: The aroma is flowery with notes of roses, carnations, nutmeg and essential oils.
Taste: The taste is harmonious, fresh and soft with a persistent aftertaste.
Pairings: Ideal with appetizers, Asian recipes, shellfish.

Vineyard: Tyrol, Scena, Lagundo, Lana, 400 - 500 m Marlengo
Soils: Light, permeable, morainic soil, sandy, clayey soil, enriched with humus
Age of vines: 10 - 15 years
Aging: 3 years +
Total acidity: 5.06 gr./l
Residual sugar: 4.50 gr./l
Vinification: Cold maceration for 12 hours. Alcoholic fermentation at controlled temperature in small stainless steel wine tanks. 
Maturation follows on the lees for 5 months.

Meran

Cantina Vini Merano and Cantina Burggräfler, two traditional cooperatives of producers, have joined together.   On July 1, 2010, following the merger of the Burggräfler winery (1901) and the Merano wine cellar (1952), the two traditional cooperatives of producers from the Merano area, the Merano Burggräfler winery was born with 380 members, who cultivate 260 ha of vineyards in the western wine-growing area of South Tyrol, from Lana in the south, through Merano to Rifiano in the north, and from Lagundo to Castelbello in the west. Numerous small producers cultivate their vineyards, located along the best slopes of Merano and the surrounding municipalities of Lagundo, Tirolo, Caines, Rifiano, Scena, Marlengo, Cermes and Lana. The wine-growing area of western South Tyrol extends to Val Venosta, the smallest South Tyrolean DOC production area closed, characterized by extreme climatic conditions.
