Color: Light straw yellow.
Smell: The nose reveals notes of ripe pears and wet granite.
Taste: On the palate it has a vibrant acidity balanced by a soft and round texture. Fresh and mineral finish.
Food pairing: Excellent as an aperitif, the wine goes well with grilled fish, soups and stews, fried foods and roasted shellfish.

Mullineux & Leeu

Mullineux & Leeu Family Wines was born from the collaboration between Chris and Andrea Mullineux and Analjit Singh, owners of companies in the Swartland region. The name of the winery originates from the surname of Chris and Andrea, Mullineux, and from the translation from Sanskrit of the word Singh which means "lion" in Afrikaans Leeu. The Mullineux & Leeu Family Wines vineyards are located in the Western Cape, a geologically ancient area, fruit before the tectonic collision, which occurred millions of years ago, which produced a soil characterized by the crystallization of magma in granite and shale rocks, to which subsequently, due to the movements of the continents, a sandstone deposit called Cape Supergroup was added. Agronomic management follows natural methods. The climate, optimal for the cultivation of vines, is characterized by slightly rainy summers and cooled by breezes from the Atlantic Ocean. The cultivated varieties are mostly: Chenin Blanc and Syrah, followed by Grenache Blanc, Viognier, Clarette Blanche, Semillon Gris, Carignan, Mourvédre, Cinsault, ... Even in the cellar the policy is not very interventionist (no yeasts, no filtration, no enzymes, no acidifications) , ...). In a short time Mullineux & Leeu Family Wines has become one of the best known in South Africa also internationally: Andrea Mullineux was nominated by Wine Enthusiast’s 2016 International Winemaker of the Year magazine
